The Friends of the Reference Room are supporters and advocates for sustaining a premier collection of industrial relations materials in the Georgianna E. Herman Reference Room and the continuing existence of the WorksOnWork database. Friends promote and advance the Industrial Relations Center mission of outreach and scholarly endeavor through their support of the Reference Room. Adopt-a-book
Celebrate a special occasion, acknowledge an accomplishment, or provide a memorial tribute by adopting a book in someone’s honor. Your minimum contribution of $100.00 will fund the purchase and processing of one book. A bookplate will be placed inside each book, and will bear your name and the person/event you are honoring.

If you are a member of a professional club or organization, adopting a book could be a group project, perhaps continuing from month-to-month or year-to-year.

Adopt-a-journal
In recent years periodicals have become one of the most difficult library collections to maintain. Due to rising subscription costs, the Reference Room has been forced to cancel some serial titles.
You and your colleagues depend on access to the most recently published literature in your field. By donating the cost of a subscription to a journal title for at least three years, you will ensure its availability in the Reference Room. If you have a particular title you would like to adopt, or support a general subject area please let us know. Upon payment you will receive a tax receipt in the full amount of the donation. The bound volumes will include a bookplate bearing your name and/or the person/event you are honoring.
