Help the Reference Room When you Purchase
Books, Videos, Music, and More!

The Georgianna E. Herman Reference Room has joined the Amazon.com Associates Program. The Reference Room will profit from sales generated through its linkage to the Amazon.com site. As an Amazon.com Associate the library will earn 5% of all purchases initiated through the Reference Room catalog website, WorksOnWork. If you click on the Amazon.com logo found at the bottom of the button bar on any page and place an order, when that item is shipped to you, the Reference Room receives 5% of the cost of the item whether it is books, videos, music, or any other item that Amazon.com sells. You help the Reference Room each time you make your personal Amazon.com purchases through the WorksOnWork site. Support the Reference Room by using the WorksOnWork links to Amazon.com.

The WorksOnWork site will also be featuring books authored by the Industrial Relations Center faculty. Your purchases of those items are also eligible for a 5% referral fee to the Reference Room. While using the WorksOnWork catalog you will find pictures of new library books and/or a “Buy at Amazon.com” link. Users have the ability to simply click and go straight to that item at the Amazon.com site. Purchasing via those links will also be eligible for a 5% referral fee to the Reference Room.

The partnership with Amazon.com will expand the ease of access to information about books the Reference Room purchases. Since the Reference Room collection is non-circulating, this enables patrons and remote users of our online catalog a great opportunity to not only purchase books seen in our collection, but also find information about the quality, availability, and nature of our books and other resources. The ready accessibility of reviews, details about the books, and links to other related works is entirely useful and consistent with the Reference Room’s mission of high service to our community of users.

Amazon.com is the largest online retailer of books. Its site features secure web-based credit card payment and direct shipping to customers. Amazon.com pioneered the concept of syndicated selling on the internet and has over 900,000 members in its Associates Program.
